Priests & Seminarians
"Beloved sons, you who are priests, you who in virtue of your sacred office act as counselors and spiritual leaders both of individual men and women and of families. We turn to you filled with great confidence. For it is your principal duty. We are speaking especially to you who teach moral theology to spell out clearly and completely the Church's teaching on marriage."
-Pope Paul VI,
Humanae Vitae

The major purpose of my professional and educational endeavors has been to help to restore, develop, and support the role of the priest as counselor to the family. From my studies within the Dominican House of Studies, to the Papal Institute of John Paul II, to work of adjunct professor at the North American College in Rome, and to the work with the Vatican Pontifical Council for the Family, I have come to appreciate the quality of the priest's disposition for counsel. The more complete the formation for the priests and seminarians in Christian Anthropology, the more complete will be their foundation for understanding the nature of man and his faculties. This higher degree of understanding will help them to be not only good priests but also professional counselors.

It is our purpose to assist the priest and seminarian in their continued education and support as counselors to the family. With this in mind, the Institute of Thomistic Psychology (ITP) came into being.
